The Girl Who Saw Fate

A fantasy short story

"The Girl Who Saw Fate" is a short story set in the Life, Fate, Magic world. It serves as an introduction to the Islands of Fate and to the concept of Destiny, a foundational belief of the island people.

Banni is an outcast in her small island village. Due to her inability to walk, she's unable to participate in the life and activities of the village and can only sit on the fringes, watching the world go by. But when Banni notices that there's something going on in the village that no one else can see, she makes it her mission to understand and to share this knowledge. What Banni discovers will bring new life to her people—and to Banni herself.

Writing Excerpts

A variety of excerpts from different pieces of writing in a variety of genres. Many of these are from short stories, but others might be from novels, unfinished drafts, or story ideas I haven't yet begun writing.

Please keep in mind that most of these excerpts are only lightly edited, so you should expect some flaws. I hope reading these can give you an idea of my writing style and get you excited to read more of my work.

Sacred Bell

A fantasy novel

Sacred Bell is a novel from my worldbuilding playground, Life, Fate, Magic. Set in the early days of the Magic Era, this is the story of Fife's first necromancer, Keria, and follows her from the discovery of her powers, through the years as she learns what to do with them, and finally sets up the future of necromancy in Fife.

I'm currently working on the third draft of this novel, with a goal of reducing the overall wordcount while expanding character arcs and improving the pacing and worldbuilding.

Vanished

A science fiction novel

Vanished is a novel inspired by the mythical Planet X (or Planet Nine, or Nibiru, or whatever name you prefer)—that mysterious planet supposedly floating around somewhere in our solar system. Vanished answers the question of its existence with a resounding "yes!" and explores what might happen if we found that planet—and what might happen if it disappeared again.

I'm currently going through the first draft of this novel with my critique group, gathering feedback and ideas for a second draft.
